Consilium Strategic Communications, a global leader in strategic healthcare communications and investor relations, is pleased to announce the appointments of Arne Naeveke, PhD and Alexandra Deschner as Senior Strategic Advisors with effect from 1 March. Arne will head Consilium’s US communications offering, while Alexandra’s appointment will provide greater access to the investment community and best practice investor relations in Europe.

Arne brings more than 20 years of experience in the global biotech and biopharma industries as a trusted communications, advocacy and policy leader. Experienced across the entire value chain, from discovery through commercialisation and within a wide range of therapeutic modalities and disease areas, Arne combines his strong scientific background with strategic storytelling. His appointment further strengthen Consilium’s US communications capability.

Prior to joining Consilium, Arne served as Head of Corporate Communications, Vice President at Freeline Therapeutics, Inc where he delivered the communications strategy to enhance investor trust while leading all strategic communications development for the company. His experience also includes roles with Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc (today AstraZeneca), the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, GSK, Sanofi Pasteur MSD and Aventis (today Sanofi). Previously, Arne was a journalist for top-tier national print and broadcast media outlets in Germany. Arne has spent half of his career in Europe and the other half in the US. He is fluent in English, French and German and he holds a PhD in Biochemistry.

Alexandra brings more than 20 years of international, cross-sectoral experience. Her deep European investor relations (IR) experience adds to the strong roster of IR expertise at Consilium. She joins the firm from the Belgian life sciences company Univercells SA, where she served as Vice President, Investor Relations, and developed and implemented Univercells’ first IR strategy in preparation for a public listing. Prior to Univercells, Alexandra headed IR at Mithra Pharmaceuticals (MITRA.BR). Earlier IR positions were held at UCB (UCB.BR) and Fiat (FCA.MI). Alexandra is a native English and German speaker with fluency in French and Italian, and she holds an MBA in International Management from Fordham University in New York.
